Peter Dundas At Pucci

EMILIO PUCCI has this morning confirmed what has long since been rumoured: that Matthew Williamson will leave the label when his three year contract expires next month, to be replaced by former Emanuel Ungaro designer Peter Dundas.

After three years as Pucci's artistic director, Williamson is reportedly been keen to free up his time to spend building his burgeoning own label; as such, Dundas - who has had plenty of practice with the zizzy colour palettes for which Pucci is famed via stints at equally-flamboyant labels Christian Lacroix and Roberto Cavalli - will step into the breach as of October 1.

"Peter Dundas, who is one of the most promising designers of his generation, possesses a creative talent and personality that fit with Pucci's spirit and with its colourful and modern identity," Pucci said in a statement.
